ART INSPIRATION //
It is human nature to form habits, make associations and deduce opinions based from our personal experiences. These stories that we tell ourselves shape our own version of reality and influence our decisions, behavior and outlook. But rather than walking around, deeply engrossed in, and living from my mind, (i.e. coming from a place of unconsciousness), I was seeking ways to be more engaged in the present moment. In this search, I was exposed to new-to-me theories and thoughts, but what really surprised me were the recurring themes in these transformative stories involving visualization, meditation and manifestation from multiple unrelated sources. Physicists, spiritual leaders, entrepreneurs, and philosophers who all shared similar findings, scientific data and life-changing results. It would be easy to discount them individually. But collectively, there were too many similarities. And looking back on my own life, I could think of examples where I had envisioned a goal and things just seemed to have effortlessly "fallen into place." I had inadvertently tapped into that frequency before, but it took these recent teachings and stories to connect the dots for me. They launched me out of my comfort zone and caused me to evaluate my own thought patterns. It was almost like that scene in the Matrix where Neo has the choice to take the blue pill or the red pill. If he took the red pill, he would learn the truth but he couldn't unsee what he'd seen. This inability to unlearn my newfound discoveries was where I found myself at the beginning of this journey. Standing on the threshold to this new way of thinking, and open to where it might take me, I felt exhilarated.

SYMBOLISM //
The large circle in this piece is somewhat of a portal. It is your decision to cross the threshold into the unknown, with an openness and curiosity for what's to come.
