My new mini art series features cairns in a variety of sizes and color palettes. So what are cairns exactly? You've probably seen stacks of carefully balanced rocks alongside trails - that's them. Cairns are used as a navigation tool to let you know you are on the right path. In the context of this unstable year, I was drawn to the reassuring guidance these visuals provide. In a reality where we're navigating around an invisible virus, making unprecedented decisions, and guessing at what's next, wouldn't it be more settling to see a sign that let us know we are making the right choices? For now, our inner compass will determine our paths and hopefully we will not end up lost!
The 12 originals in this mini series range from 12" and under. I chose color palettes that were calming, pleasant and soothing. They can be mixed and matched, displayed together or stand alone to bring a pop of color to an overlooked space. I wish you good luck as you navigate this year. Stay safe!
